Steven M. Greer (June 28, 1955) is an American physician and ufologist who founded the Orion Project and The Disclosure Project.

Greer was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1955. [1] According to Greer he had a UFO sighting when he was eight years old and again at age 18.[1]

Greer was trained as a Transcendental Meditation teacher in 1975. [1] In 1993 Greer founded The Disclosure Project whose goal is to disclose to the public the government’s knowledge of extraterrestrials.[2][3] In 1994 Greer appeared in Larry King's TV special The UFO Coverup?. [4] As of 1995, Greer was chairman of the department of emergency medicine at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and the head of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI) whose goal is to initiate contact with extraterrestrials.[1]

In May 2001, Greer held a press conference in D.C that featured "20 retired Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration and intelligence officers" who demanded that Congress begin hearings on "secret U.S. involvement with UFOs and extraterrestrials".[5] According to a 2002 report in the Oregon Daily Emerald, Greer has gathered 120 hours of testimony from various government officials on the topic of UFO's, including Brigadier General Stephen Lovekin and astronaut Gordon Cooper.[2] In 2002 Greer appeared three times on the radio show Coast to Coast AM.[6]

In 2012, Greer obtained crowdfunding and released a UFO documentary called Sirius. [7][8]
